Established in 2021 by lifelong enthusiasts James and Jade, Stimela Events is a creative collective dedicated to championing South Africa’s rich railway and transport heritage through the lens. By blending historical preservation with immersive photographic experiences, we provide unique access to the country’s industrial soul.
Our team has grown to include Kimberley-based tourism specialist Bakang Seinolo and Cape Town’s Derick Norton. As the founder of Got2Travel, Derick’s expertise has allowed us to expand our footprint significantly across the Western Cape.
While our foundation is rooted in the rails, we embrace all forms of historic and contemporary transport, organizing affordable events designed for everyone:
For Photographers: We cater to all skill levels, from mobile enthusiasts to seasoned professionals seeking rare portfolio opportunities.
For Heritage Lovers: We welcome those who attend purely for the atmosphere and exclusive access to South Africa’s transport legacy.
At our core, we believe that teamwork makes the dream work. We invite you to join our community as we preserve South Africa's narrative, one frame at a time.

Bakang Cameron Seinolo
Known to many as "King Gravity," Bakang is a prominent voice in the digital rail community. Raised in Kimberley by two railway workers, his childhood was defined by frequent train travel between the Northern Cape and Gauteng, where he first discovered the magic of the locomotive. His dedication has earned him spots on national news bulletins and features in international magazines, making him a leading figure in modern rail documentation.
Derick Norton
